This very small hostel is located within 200 metres from the great wall at Simatai. There is also a very reasonably priced restaurant where you can have your meals, with reasonably priced drinks...2 yuan for coca cola and 3 yuan for beer.

They do not speak English..only chinese

Simatai is half way mark on the Photo. You have to walk out of the complex and walk out and up the hill, around the corner, over the bridge and the white building on your left is the Restaurant and Hostel. The rooms have 3 beds, a small bathroom with hot showers, and costs around 100 yuan a person.

The ladies are very kind.

This is the place that SinoHotel.com tours stop for lunch when you do the Jinshanling Hike. The tourguide suggested it for me then cancelled my booking when he learnt the Korean Embassy had my passport and i just had a copy.

The ladies were just as disappointed as I was...and I can recommend it for honesty and a reasonable price, as well as being able to sleep on the wall. The catch is that you have to pay 40 yuan for being on the wall, and if you stay more than 1 day, I think you have to pay that fee again. I got accosted by the ferocious gate guards and was relieved I found the ticket in the camera case.
